I'm a hobbyist fine art photographer based in the south west of England. I'm a husband, father of two beautiful girls, and a christian. I work in amenity arboriculture as an arboricultural consultant.
I've found, as a husband and father, that photography is an important outlet, as it allows me to have time to myself and reflect without it impacting too much on family life. Photography for me is more than just capturing a scene. I see it as an art form that is not bound by any particular genre or post processing techniques. Through my images I try to show others how I see the world. I like scenes that play tricks on the eye. I'm drawn to simplicity and minimalist scenes. I enjoy long exposure photography and use the technique as a foundation for producing fine art images.
I have had success in my local paper, The Bournemouth Echo, winning photograph of the week a few times and I have featured in the 'meet the photographer' article.
My image titled 'ETERNITY' recently won the Wex Photo Video (#Wexmondays) and FS Print (#FSprintMonday) weekly photography competitions on Twitter. Images titled 'SOLITARY', 'SHINE', 'RELIEF ROAD' and 'DAY OFF' have also received recognition by being shortlisted in the same competitions.
My image 'OLD PIER' was featured in the January 2019 edition of Practical Photography magazine.
